CPE Opportunities

All registrants have access to SCAN Virtual Symposium On-Demand for three months after the event.

Logging CPEU from the SCAN Virtual Symposium

CPE certificates will be available for download to attendees within the virtual platform.

You will log each educational session individually, not the conference as a whole. There are multiple learning formats offered throughout the symposium. These formats correlate with different activity types, set forth by CDR:

  • 171 – Lecture/Seminar
  • 180 – Posters
  • 175 – Recorded Pre-Approved CPE

Performance Indicators have been assigned to each session. This information is subjective; feel free to select those that best correlate with your Professional Development Portfolio (PDP) needs.

Educational Session Certificates

Each session on the schedule will have both a live and code 175 CPE certificate. Here are guidelines for when you should use which certificate:

  • Live CPE Certificates: Use this certificate if you attend a session during the time block it was originally broadcast. You must tune into the session during its scheduled time block to count live CPE credit.
  • Code 175 CPE Certificates: All sessions will be available for on-demand viewing within 3-5 days following the scheduled broadcast time. Please use the Code 175 certificate when viewing a session on-demand for self-study. Please note, all CPEU Sessions are available on the virtual site.

Calculating CPEU

60-minute sessions = 1.0 CPEU

Posters Certificate

Complete the date and amount of time spent viewing the posters.

E-Posters (Activity Type 180) do not need to be listed separately. One may record several posters that relate to the same Performance Indicator as one event. For example, logging e-posters viewed on a given day can be logged as “SCAN Poster Sessions”. One half (0.5) CPEU is equivalent to 1/2 contact hour (30 minutes).

A 60-minute session of all poster presentations will be hosted during the event.

Session Recordings

All registrants gain access to the session recordings on-demand for 3 months following the symposium. Enjoy the content from your fingertips 24/7 following the event. SCAN knows your schedule is busy and the recordings offer you the option to view live sessions you miss during the event.

Virtual Engagement

The SCAN Virtual Symposium will be hosted online as a virtual event. Are you tired of yet another webinar? Don’t worry! The SCAN Virtual Symposium is not just another webinar! The event will be hosted on a platform that allows attendees to connect with each other. Additional events including virtual posters, interactive speaker Q&A, and rapid-fire presentations will keep the pace of the event interactive and fun!  Speakers will be live for Q&A and all attendees will have an opportunity to share their questions.

Attending a virtual event while balancing the day-to-day can be challenging! We hope that you are able to dedicate the time to join us for the live event to foster an interactive environment with your peers and pose live questions with speakers. However, we know that cannot always be possible so attendees will have access to the event recordings on-demand for three months following the symposium. Take advantage of this format to view recordings on your own time!
