SCAN DPG: SCAN Cooks Mediterranean: Virtual Kitchen/Nutrition Coaching Best Practices

In lieu of a SCAN FNCE® Reception this year, join us for an enjoyable evening that will provide you practical skills, great food, and lots of laughs with your SCAN colleagues.  The emergence of Culinary Medicine – where health meets food – has provided an opportunity for RDNs to step up their game in this arena.  There has been dramatic increased interest in cooking demonstrations that are both educational and fun for all ages, but many RDNs don’t know where to begin.  Hope Barkoukis, PhD, RDN, LD, FAND a long-time SCAN member and Faculty Lead of the Mandel Wellness Pathway, School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, will be taking you through the planning, preparation, and execution necessary for a stress-free virtual cooking demonstration. She is joined by Katy McManus, PhD, RDN, LD who will share her insights using this approach for those involved with research.  This event will be moderated by Jeanie Subach, EdD, RD, CSSD, LDN. But it won’t be all work…Participants will have fun following along preparing a Mediterranean meal and doing a wine pairing (why not?) during this 90-minute virtual session.  You do not need to be a SCAN member, or registered for FNCE®, to attend. Registration is free. You will receive an ingredient and equipment list in advance of the event.
