Integrating Academy Research Resources into Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition Practice

Session Abstract

RDNs in all practice areas are being asked to conduct research or quality improvement projects that make the case for RDN reimbursement and continued patient participation in counseling. Learn about the Academy’s research resources, including the EAL, Dietetics Practice Based Research Network, and Health Informatics Infrastructure, and how these can be used to gather outcomes data in practice. All of these research resources are tied together through the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology—learn how to put your existing use of this terminology to work beyond the PES statement and demonstrate your value to patients and colleagues!

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the relationship of the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology to research and quality improvement efforts
  2. Name and describe at least one Academy research resource.
  3. Describe how their practice could use ANDHII to collect data that would demonstrate their value to colleagues and patients.
