Performance Nutrition and Research Internship

Organization: Athletes’ Performance

Description: At AP, you will find all kinds of exciting opportunities in a highly dynamic environment. Depending on your area of interest you will assist in analyzing diets, analyzing blood work, research trials and nutrition consultations. You will be educated on a variety of topics and will be expected to educate others on a variety of topics once you complete an assignment. Daily maintenance tasks will include everything from taking out the garbage, cleaning up assigned areas, to assisting in the preparation and delivery of the nutrition supplementation program and setting up equipment for testing or training purposes. Expect to be challenged intellectually in individual and group settings. Debates within group meetings are common.

Eligibility: Strong interest in performance nutrition/research; Nutrition/Research related experience preferred; Superior work ethic and a desire to learn; Analytical approach; Grad Students Preferred, but strong undergraduate students will be considered.

Each application is processed and sent to our selection committee for review. Accepted applicants will be notified upon approval.

Length: This is an unpaid internship. Hours are flexible, but usually assistants work 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM 5-6 days per week. Start and end dates are flexible but generally follow a semester schedule (Spring, Summer, Fall). This can vary depending on projects that are underway.

Supervision: Intern will work directly with the Performance Nutritionist at either location

Location: Tempe, AZ and Carson, CA

Cost or Compensation: Unpaid; however, Work out in world-class facilities, Special discounts on food and merchandise, and Adidas Working apparel included

Travel: Travel is not included

Accommodation: Accommodation is not included.

Spring 2007: Jan 4 - April 28 (16 weeks): deadline: Oct 7, 2006
Summer 2007: May 15 - Aug 11 (13 weeks): deadline: Feb 17, 2007
Fall 2007: Sept 4 - Dec 22 (16 weeks): deadline: June 9, 2007
