Through the CDC’s Coordinating Center for Health Information and Service (CoCHIS), SCAN joins other important public, private, and nonprofit groups working to strengthen and enhance the reach of health promotion information. This relationship provides opportunities for increased efficiencies, stronger collaboration and more effective coordination among related programs of other partner organizations as well as the CDC’s own coordinating centers, offices, institutes and divisions. Female Athlete Triad Coalition

The Female Athlete Triad Coalition is as a group of national and international organizations dedicated to addressing unhealthy eating behaviors, hormonal irregularities and bone health among female athletes and active women. Each year, key medical, nursing, athletic and sports medicine groups work together to prevent the Female Athlete Triad through advocacy, education, global leadership, public policy, and research. SCAN has been a member of the Coalition from its inception, pledging support by participating in the annual summit meeting and actively working with fellow Coalition members to educate the public and health and fitness professionals on the prevention of the Triad.

SCAN is among the member organizations comprising the Joint Commission on Sports Medicine and Science (JCSMS). JCSMS is committed to advancing the sports medicine profession and does so by acting as a convener and catalyst for cooperative ventures among sports health societies. At an annual forum hosted by JCSMS, representatives from member sports societies meet to share what they are doing, learn what others are doing, and debate issues that affect the future of the sports medicine profession.

This anniversary program commemorates the valuable contributions and efforts of friends and colleagues of PCPFS who have dedicated themselves over the last fifty years to improving the health and fitness of Americans. SCAN is responding to the PCPFS’s Call to Action to fortify efforts to get more Americans active. By engaging in this partnership, SCAN joins the PCPFS in celebrating where we've been and where we're going as a nation in the promotion of health, physical activity, fitness, and enjoyment for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities through participation in physical activity and sports.
