Poster Sessions

Practitioners, graduate students, and undergraduate students are invited to submit abstracts for the Symposium poster sessions. Submissions, using the official application form only, must be made via the SCAN website by midnight (CST) on February 1, 2012.

Abstract acceptance will be based on the quality of the abstract and its relevance to SCAN practice areas, which include sports nutrition, cardiovascular health, wellness, and disordered eating and eating disorders. Abstracts should summarize original research, project and program reports, or excellence in practice tools and strategies. Decisions on acceptance will be made by March 1, 2012.

Posters will be judged and cash prizes awarded to the first place poster in each of three categories: Professional, Graduate Student, and Undergraduate Student. Winners will be announced at the SCAN Awards Luncheon on Saturday, April 21, 2012.

Requirements

One author for each accepted abstract must register for and attend the Symposium to present the poster. A limited number of SCAN-student members who submit accepted abstracts will receive FREE Symposium registration, but must be SCAN members at the time of submission.

Accepted authors are responsible for all expenses related to their participation including poster preparation, development of handouts, shipping fees, meeting registration fees, and personal expenses such as travel, hotel, and meals.

Accepted authors will be notified of the times they must be in attendance at their posters, and must conform to poster session setup, presentation, and breakdown timelines. General viewing hours for the Poster Sessions are:

Friday, April 20, 2012
11:00 am - 8:30 pm

Saturday, April 21, 2012
8:00 am - 4:00 pm
